Last year, le coq sportif has invited a Hong Kong local designer, Ronan Leung, to design a T-shirt, which has drawn the great attention to the public.
This year, le coq sportif co-operated with Ronan Leung again for a whole new collection. “French Traveler” is the theme of LCS x Ronan Leung Crossover Collection.
Ronan has adopted navy blue and pink as the main colors in the collection, which are also his favorite colors in his artworks too. The ideas of the graphics were inspired by the traditional blue color of French farm toile.
Ronan applied the patterns on T-shirts, sneakers and tote bags. You simply cannot miss this playful and easy-to-match collection in this spring and summer!

In STYLIN’: Personal Expressions of Beauty, five artists showcase their very different works: Installation artist and sculptor Movana Chen weaves paper into dreamy organic forms; while illustrator and makeup artist May Sum showcases her colorful characters and the imaginary world they inhabit. Ronan Leung, a graphic designer and illustrator, uses punchy color combinations in his quirky illustrations, and illustrator Emily Eldridge’s fashionable characters are cheeky females with an edge. Spanish shoe designer Hermenegildo Muxart showcases his brand of luxury shoes under his 22-year-old internationally recognized label Muxart, while painter Wesley Terpstra explores his attraction to local Hong Kong ephemera through his stenciled abstract painting series. Whether through one’s hairstyle or via paint on paper, beauty is indeed personal and meant to be explored.
Artists: Movana Chen (Hong Kong), Emily Eldridge (USA/Hong Kong), Ronan Leung (Hong Kong), May Sum (Hong Kong), Wesley Terpstra (USA/Hong Kong).

TGIF! At the end of a long workweek, this catchphrase is more than just a sigh of relief and a welcome greeting to the weekend. There’s something significant about the life that’s lived outside of office hours – a time symbolic for reasons beyond the need for relaxation. In the space between an evening commute and a Monday morning meeting, how is one’s time spent? Do activities of leisure, various hobbies, and other personal pursuits shed light on the mask behind the office persona? Do these activities reveal careers individuals wish they had? Lives they wish they led? People they dream of becoming?
This idea of a separate life after work is the concept behind TGIF!, an exhibition co-curated by local Hong Kong artists Ronan Leung and Emily Eldridge, which features their artwork alongside that of fellow Hong Kong-based creatives Catherine Grossrieder, Emilie Sarnel, and Jimmy Ming Shum. TGIF seeks to explore the notion of the individual’s workplace façade; the mask one projects to colleagues, superiors, and acquaintances – a pretense that infrequently delves into the reality of one’s inner life. Through photography, illustration, and painting, TGIF! investigates the private world of the authentic self.
BOOM, a new concept gallery/bar/café in the hip Tai Ping Shan Street neighborhood, was the perfect location for TGIF! Previously a run-down, forgotten shop, BOOM is the clever reinvention of a traditional workspace, new life breathed into something old.
Please join us for the opening reception of TGIF! on Friday, May 25, 2012, 6:30-10:30pm at BOOM Gallery, 48 Sai Street, Central, Hong Kong.
Exhibition Dates: 25/5 – 25/6, 2012
Gallery Hours: 12:00-20:00 Mon-Sun

Stop killing for no reason, like trophy hunt, sport hunt, ivory trade … not just to elephant, but to all species of animals. No one can take over their rights to survive.
There are many photos that you can search online which about hunters holding ivories and standing beside an dead elephant, that suddenly bring up an idea to my mind that what if people found that elephants poo is more rare than ivory… Will they still take a selfie?"
